Anytime you feel you must use a substance to function and manage stress in relationships or are struggling to fulfill major life obligations, there’s a problem. Our providers use evidence based techniques to treat and diagnose substance use disorders.
NWIH offers a comprehensive, integrated approach to treating Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and co-occurring mental health conditions. Services include Medication‑Assisted Treatment (MAT – methadone, buprenorphine/Suboxone, naltrexone), chemical dependency and mental health counseling, peer counseling, recovery coaching, and Hepatitis C treatment

No referral is necessary. You can self-refer by calling or completing the online form. Once you reach out, NWIH’s team will schedule an initial assessment to begin creating your personalized treatment plan .
Your intake appointment will include a medical and mental health evaluation, a review of your substance use history, and any necessary physical exams or lab testing. Based on this, your care team (physician + Chemical Dependency Professional) will work with you to develop a treatment plan that may include counseling and MAT .
NWIH provides “Courtesy Dosing”—you can receive your scheduled methadone dose at another NWIH MAT clinic (Tacoma or Lakewood) by filling out a simple form
Beyond stabilization, NWIH offers ongoing counseling services (individual, group, peer support), recovery coaching, and referrals to community resources such as AA/NA meetings. They can also assist with Hepatitis C treatment, insurance copay programs, and connecting you to local recovery support .
